Community Outreach
Coastal Horizons has developed outreach groups to provide access to the untapped population of New Hanover County. By design, these groups occur in various locations throughout the county. These groups are designed for those who may need to find additional support and motivation. We also cover topics related to starting and maintaining a recovery journey. If someone wants to begin a treatment journey, we have the resources to connect them to an appropriate service provider.

Rapid Screening Services
Coastal Horizons offers Rapid Screening Services for HIV, Hepatitis C, and Syphilis in Brunswick, Bladen, Columbus, New Hanover, and Pender Counties. These services are confidential and quick and can help decrease the prevalence of communicable diseases. All positive screenings are followed up with confirmatory tests, consultation, and referrals. For those living with HIV, our "Positive Imagez" support group has been effective for over 25 years. This group meets weekly to discuss trends in HIV medication and opportunities for those living positive and provide peer support.
