Veteran Services

Combating a silent epidemic

Coastal Horizons is partnering with Save a Vet Now (SAVN) in an endeavor to assist Veterans in our area with access to and receipt of outpatient treatment services. The mission of SAVN is to combat the silent epidemic of Veteran suicides by raising community awareness and financial support. Coastal Horizons is collaborating with SAVN through the development of our new Veterans Outreach Program.  More information about Save a Vet Now Inc. may be accessed by visiting www.saveavetnow.org.

Our SAVN Veterans Outreach Program utilizes a special account which will be used to cover any co-pay or self-pay costs (that are not covered by State, Medicaid, Medicare or other 3rd party insurance funding) for treatment services at any of our Brunswick, New Hanover or Pender outpatient locations.  For authentication, veterans will need to show “Proof of Veteran Status” to our Front Desk and/or Patient Access staff.  Our staff will then make a copy and attach it to the veteran’s billing paperwork so our finance department will know to use the Save A Vet Now funds to pay for any fees not already covered by another source.  “Proof of Veteran Status” includes one of the following certificates: DD-214, DD-215, WD AGO 53/55, NAVMC 78-PD, or NAVPERS.  Alternatively, veterans can demonstrate proof of service by showing our staff their veteran designation on their driver’s license.  If a veteran has provided the DMV with one of the foregoing documents, their license will have a “VETERAN” designation in the lower right-hand corner.

Coastal Horizons is proud to serve our nation’s Veterans.
