Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program
Heal, grow, and reclaim your life, your journey begins here in SAIOP!
Coastal Horizons offers an enhanced treatment service called the Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) or IOP. We serve all people ages 18 years and older in a 12-week program consisting of group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, and case management to link clients with community resources.
IOP is offered every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for three hours daily, both in the morning and evening, to better accommodate our clients’ schedules.
Our New Hanover location also offers a women’s only IOP group!
Topics addressed in IOP include:
- Relapse Prevention Planning
- Mental Health Issues
- Wellness Family Roles
- Emotion Regulation
- Communication Skills
Transportation assistance can be provided for individuals enrolled in our IOP program, as well as other assistance to help individuals in their recovery journey. We are dedicated to addressing any barriers you may have to accessing treatment!
Overall, IOP outcomes show that clients report that they have started attending more support meetings such as AA, NA, CR or SMART Recovery and report a decrease in substance use, and report an increased satisfaction with their recovery by the end of their IOP time.
Contact your local CHC office to find out available IOP hours.
