What program do the proceeds from the auction benefit?

Coastal Horizons is now accepting submissions of art in any medium to its Third Annual Virtual Art Auction: “By Kids and Kids at Heart, For Kids.”  Proceeds from the Art Auction will go to benefit Our Children's Place (OCP) of Coastal Horizons, a statewide program committed to the children of incarcerated and returning parents. “Very rarely do we think beyond the incarcerated person themselves when we discuss who is impacted by incarceration,” said Melissa Radcliff, OCP Director. “At OCP, we strive to build resilience by surrounding these children with a community of caring professionals who recognize, support, and encourage them.”

How do I submit artwork for auction?

In years past only open to children, “By Kids and Kids at Heart, For Kids” is now open to artists of any age from across the state and beyond. Artists make submissions by emailing photos of their artwork to Coastal Horizons' Development Director, Elizabeth Redenbaugh, at eredenbaugh@coastalhorizons.org. To participate, the artist must agree to mail or deliver the art to the winning bidder at his or her own expense. If shipping expense is a barrier to participation, please email or call Elizabeth Redenbaugh at 910-524-5592 to see if alternative arrangements can be made.  To keep shipping costs down, we encourage artists to ship unframed work only. Artwork submissions will be accepted through Friday, February 11, 2022. Artists may submit more than one piece of art.

Along with photos of the art piece(s), please include the following:

1. artist's name;
2. artist's age (in the event the artist is a child);
3. artist's hometown;
4. artist's contact information;
5. artwork title;
6. medium used (art in any medium will be accepted);
7. a brief description of the art, including dimensions;
8. the inspiration for the piece;
9. if a professional artist, the minimum bid you recommend, as well as the fair market value of the piece; and
10. if a professional artist, please include the link to your website which we will share along with the description of your art.

How do I bid?

"By Kids and Kids at Heart, For Kids " Art Auction will go live on Valentine’s Day, Monday, February 14, 2022 at 6 a.m. and will close that same day at 8 p.m. To bid, click here or text 4kids22 to 76278. Adult artists are featured in items 1-99.  Child artists are featured in items 100 and above.
